Welcome
I have stared this blog to share news data and achievements toward developing a space launch capability at the civilian level. Something I have long believed is a possibility, and certainly with advances in the areas of propulsion, composites and micro-electronics.
This project is the ultimate goal of the Academic Space Launch Initiative (ASLI), which is working with undergraduate students to develop key enabling technologies.

As a foundation we have identified that low-cost avionics technologies will be key to producing a viable nano-launcher, and as such in our first year made advances on an Inertial Measurement System, LINUX based flight computer and flexible sub-processors based on ARM technologies.
